RANG A CÚIG 20/21
Hello and welcome to 5th Class!
This year we are very lucky, we have our own classroom for the first time ever! We have 13 students in our class – 7 boys and 6 girls! Our teacher is Miss. Molloy. We are settling in very well and we are delighted to be back together in Scoil Mhuire Fatima.
We have been very busy this month, settling back into school life and doing lots of fun activities. Miss. Molloy has captured us doing a few of these activities, such as Athletics in P.E, ‘Self-Portrait’ and ‘Behind the Mask’ Artwork, taking and recording our pulse for Science, playing soccer as part of the European School Sports Day and having fun playing on Up-Pitch at lunch time.
We hope you enjoy our pictures.
We will keep you updated with our activities every month… Bye for now! 😊

We had great fun constructing 2D shapes and identifying their properties during Maths!
We also got active and went on a shape hunt around the school.
We created some really cool skulls during Art!
We were very busy creating excellent animations on SCRATCH during our coding session before our Midterm Break.
NOVEMBER 2020
Both November and December have been very busy months in Scoil Mhuire Fatima. Here in Rang a Cúig we have been taking part in football and doing Science experiments as part of Science week. We made our own set of teeth, created our very own lava lamps and grew wheatgrass!
Our wheatgrass seeds as they began to grow...
Our wheatgrass seeds just before we left for Christmas break... Look how much they have grown! As you can see some of the grass is yellow - these are the seeds that have been growing without any light!
We have also been very creative, producing our own “Starry Night” artwork inspired by the Dutch Artist Vincent Van Gogh using chalk pastels. We designed unique and fun Cityscapes inspired by the American Artist James Rizzi and we also created beautiful Northern Lights artwork.
Students from our class presenting very interesting and unique projects they created with Mr. McEvoy.
DECEMBER 2020
We were very excited about Christmas throughout the month of December. We created some beautiful Winter and Christmas-themed artwork.
We wore our Christmas jumpers to school just before our Christmas break and we took part in our first ever virtual Christmas Carol service which we really enjoyed. We spent a lot of time practicing for the special performance and it was a great success. We performed Jingle Bell Rock. Miss. Molloy was very proud of us!
We can’t wait for 2021!
Happy New Year everyone!
